UNIT 1.

IMPERATIVES





The imperatives always used to give orders or sometimes use the word please to make polite suggestions.

Please take me those papers to work    

Please do not shout  


Please wash clothes   


THE SIMPLE FORM  OF THE VERB

It is used to form the imperative. So:

INFINITIVE          FORM SIMPLE

to start                                 start
to change                            change

the imperatives sentences are unique in the active voice of English that do not require a subject as it is understood.

THE NEGATIVE IMPERATIVES

For negative imperatives should only be added:

Don't + simple form of the verb

Don´t start the engine!
Don´t shift into reverse!
Don´t overspeed!

UNIT 2.

VERBO MODAL  “should” 


I think you should do the laundry

I think you should not out at night

MODALES DE CONSEJO  “should, ought to, d better

You shouldn´t  drink so much coffee

We should eat vegetables

We ought to know the country (no se usa en forma negativa)

 You d better eat quickly

You d better not eat quickly

THE MODAL VERB CAN

You can pay your bill at the supermarket check
You can find delicious and fresh oranges

QUESTIONS WITH CAN

The modal verb can we Have Seen as is used to express ability.


That note in the following sentences, simple form of the verb is always used after can, Regardless of the subject:

Where you can pay the bill?
You can pay your bill at the supermarket

INFINITIVE O GERUND: after verbs that express likes and preferences.
